Sa Sa Art Projects is Phnom Penh’s only not-for-profit, Cambodian artist-run space dedicated to experimental art practices. It was founded in 2010 by the Cambodian arts collective Stiev Selapak. After spending seven years at the historic and vibrant apartment complex known as the White Building, we moved to a new location, yet in the city center, in 2017. Sa Sa Art Projects aims to facilitate knowledge production and sharing through experimentation and collaboration. Sa Sa Art Projects engages with Cambodian and visiting artists, creative individuals and groups, and students and graduates to realise art projects and events that are accessible by broader Cambodians. Sa Sa Art Projects does this by focusing on four main inter-connected areas of programming: experimental arts residencies with Cambodian and visiting artists; art exhibitions by Cambodian artists and artists from mainly Southeast Asia; art and media workshops with artists, students and graduates; and collaborative projects with various partners.
